Since her mother abandoned them many years ago, Max (John Cho), a single father, has raised his daughter Wally (Mia Isaac) by himself in the film Don’t Make Me Go. Even if he and Wally don’t always agree now that she’s a teenager, their friendship is solid. Max makes the decision to make the most of the limited time he has left by giving Wally all the love and support he would have given him throughout the years after learning he has a terminal illness.

John recently told Forbes magazine, “I did not know where it was heading when I was reading it, and the ending hit me like a ton of bricks. “It was difficult to read the finale. I nearly forgot about it when we were filming. Even though I was emotionally prepared for that finale, I set it aside so that when we shot it, it wasn’t a surprise, but it still surprised me.
