The Russo brothers haven’t expressed their wish to see the film Gray Man be the first installment of Hollywood’s next action franchise and have even said that they would like to see The Gray Man will launch into an entirely different cinematic world.
The action film with a star-studded cast – now available on Netflix- has its roots in the very first book in Mark Greaney’s most-loved series of novels that tell the tale of a CIA agent who is in danger when his employers send a psychotic murderer after him.

“We have all agreed to the first movie, and that’s going to be fantastic to bring us to the next movie,” Joe Russo explained.
“We’re not going to be able to answer every question you ask in the first film,” he added during the Comic-Con session in 2020. “This is being planned as the first of a series of films and, in the future, possibly branching out, we might take on other characters; however, we’re not going to answer every question that comes up in the film.”
